What certification requires

Attending the course does not by itself produce a qualification. Every requirement below is met before ARCI issues certification.

01Hold ARCI Alpine Ski Race Coach certification with Current ARCI Status
02Evidence a minimum of one documented season coaching an alpine ski race-training group, stating the program, country, season, role, athlete category and level, duration and frequency, and a named responsible person ARCI may contact
03Complete the education in full
04Demonstrate cross-blocking competency
05Pass the assessment in diagnosis, athlete development and performance planning
06Be assessed by more than one member of ARCI staff
07Pass independent review — a second authorized ARCI reviewer examines the assessment documentation, video, coaching analysis, case work and the Course Leader recommendation

Assessment standard

The candidate develops competitive U16 and FIS racers to the ARCI Advanced Alpine Ski Race Coach standard. Advanced certification includes independent review — a second authorized ARCI reviewer independently reviews appropriate evidence (assessment documentation, video, coaching analysis, case work, Course Leader recommendation).

Diagnosis, athlete development and performance planning

Personal skiing

There is no personal skiing demonstration examination at this level. Cross-blocking is a required skiing competency.

After certification

The qualification is permanent once earned. Current ARCI Status is a separate annual registration that places the coach on the public registry as QUALIFIED · CURRENT and keeps the assigned mentor, the ARCI Coach Desk and continuing development open.

A coach who does not renew keeps the qualification and appears as QUALIFIED · INACTIVE until the annual fee is paid again.
